The Personal Approach

Carlsen brings a personal and comprehensive approach to each and every executive search, beginning with an exhaustive review of the client’s organization, culture, customers, corporate mission, competitive situation, existing team and its vision for the future. Carlsen then collaborates with the client to define the specifics of the position, skills and background needed and particular business problems that need to be solved. This combined assessment creates a revealing profile which includes detailed responsibilities, reporting structure, salary range and any special or quantifiable achievements that may be required for the position.

The profile is then merged into a comprehensive database to create a strong list of candidates. Additionally, fresh market research is conducted for every search to cover any gaps in the information.

After narrowing the candidate pool, Carlsen conducts extensive background and reference checks. The firm also employs unique and proprietary evaluation techniques to further assess candidates in an effort to ensure the best possible match.

Once the client has selected a candidate, the negotiations begin. At Carlsen, the act of negotiating is as much art as it is science; a belief that was formed through years of experience helping clients and candidates forge mutually beneficial deals. While often an anxious step for both parties, Carlsen has developed techniques for making the deal portion of the process a positive one for all involved.
