Ann Carlsen is founder and chief executive officer of Carlsen Resources, Inc. (CRI), a premier provider of executive search and consulting services in the media and telecommunications arena. Ann is highly sought after for her leadership expertise on a number of boards and advisory committees. She served as President of the National Board of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and also served as Chair of its Foundation for two additional years. She continues to serve on NAMIC's Board, and she has also served on national committees for

trusted by clients time and again to place experienced executives and rising stars at leading companies such as Bresnan, Comcast, Current TV, Google, Scripps Networks, Discovery Communications, Fox Networks Group, Time Warner and Viacom, among others.

Ann began her career in 1980 handling sales and marketing for United Cable, then led national sales and marketing for Cardiff Publishing's Cable Television Business Magazine. In 1984, Ann became vice president of marketing at Business Venture Investments, a venture capital and management firm. In 1986 she joined the Winston Management Group as vice president, where she first developed her passion for executive search. In 1989, Ann founded Future Sense, Inc., which later became Carlsen Resources, Inc.

Ann has helped establish CRI as a firm committed to recruiting and mentoring a strong roster of minority candidates. She was a founding committee member for the Telecommunications Diversity Network (TDN), a program that joined business leaders to create a job bank facilitating diverse recruitment. She also was the architect of a cable industry-wide mentorship program on behalf of the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), which has since been renamed the L. Patrick Mellon Mentorship Program.

Ann has been honored by many organizations for personal and professional excellence. She was awarded the prestigious Rita Ellix Accolade and named Woman of the Year by WICT. Ann was also honored by NAMIC for her mentorship efforts and was awarded the Distinguished Vanguard Award for Leadership by the NCTA, that organization's highest honor.

Ann is passionately serving on the Suicide Prevention International Development Committee after the tragic suicide of a dear friend's daughter compelled her to action. She was elected to the SPI board of directors in 2008. She has a particular interest in SPI's development of centers for survivors of suicide that will provide comprehensive support to children who have lost a parent or sibling to suicide.

Ann is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in journalism and business. She enjoys hiking, biking and spending time with her husband and three children.
